The Ken and Ruth Davee Department of Neurology and Clinical Neurological Sciences at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine offers fully accredited graduate medical programs in adult and pediatric neurology. Pediatric neurology fellows complete a clinical year in adult neurology at Northwestern Memorial and VA medical center and one pediatric neurology clinical year at Children's Memorial. The third year is spent on elective rotations. Each fellow maintains his or her own pediatric neurology clinic and participates in specialty clinics in epilepsy and muscular dystrophy. In addition, clinics at Northwestern Memorial provide adult neurology experience. Residents participate in morning reports with the chair, grand rounds, clinical case conferences, a basic neuroscience course, subspecialty conferences, and various conferences on neurology topics.
The program presents a full range of neurodiagnostic techniques, including advanced neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and vascular and sleep studies. Residents are encouraged to pursue independent research with the help of senior faculty members who conduct many basic science and clinical projects. Applications are processed through the National Resident Matching Program, 2450 N Street, NW, Washington, D.C., 20037-1127; 202/828-0566 or toll free, 866/617-5838; fax 202/828-4797; www.nrmp.org.
