Intended to foster and develop skills relating to medical education, Dr. A. Todd Davis sponsors this series for all levels of physicians and trainees in the Department of Pediatrics. Last year, visiting professor Larrie Greenberg, MD of George Washington University lead sessions on teaching, evaluating, reflective thinking, and several others. Information on this year's event will be coming soon. Grand Rounds are held every Friday morning from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. in Bigler Auditorium at Children's Memorial Hospital. Northwestern University's distinguished faculty present, along with other nationwide experts, on various subject areas. Recent topics have included Resident Simulation Training, Adolescent Obesity, Organ Donation, and HPV Vaccination. See the current Grand Rounds schedule. FIRM is one of our most unique multidisciplinary conferences, taking place Tuesday mornings from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. in the Winter Conference Center. Each week, faculty from each of the pediatric disciplines discuss and debate a single recent case from the wards. Trainees are able to sit back and learn from the experts as they generate a differential, present cutting-edge evidence-based data, and work through the medical decision making process. Transcriptions of FIRM are published monthly in the journal Pediatric Annals.
