Welcome to the home page of the Department of Pediatrics of the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Our faculty, trainees, and staff aspire to excellence in scholarship and research, education, clinical service, and child advocacy. I invite you to explore these pages, where you will find information about our programs, activities, and accomplishments. Our department’s activities are centered at Children’s Memorial Hospital, consistently cited as the top pediatric hospital in Illinois and one of the most highly rated children’s hospitals in the nation. In addition to serving as a tertiary referral center for the region, the hospital serves as a major community pediatric facility, reflecting our commitment to care for the underserved. Research and educational activities take place at Children’s, on the Feinberg campus, and in pediatrician offices throughout Chicago. We are determined to lead the way toward the future of pediatric medicine. Ground was recently broken on the Feinberg campus for the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, a complete replacement for our hospital facilities which will open in 2012. Our new hospital will enable increases in patient capacity, improvements in technology, and a closer connection with the rest of the medical school campus. You can view the most recent updates on the planning and construction process here. I encourage you to contact me or any of the Pediatric faculty if you have questions or would like further information. |
