Research activities in the Department of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg) include an array of basic science and translational research, clinical research, health services, and medical education research. The Department offers unique opportunities to investigate various aspects of pediatric medicine across all subspecialties. A number of faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized investigators in the major areas of biomedical research.
Faculty members in the 18 divisions of Feinberg's Department of Pediatrics conduct clinical research to find ways of improving treatments for sick children. Through the six programs based at Stanley Manne Children's Research Institute, faculty members conduct basic research to better diagnose, treat, and prevent illnesses, making discoveries leading to the most advanced pediatric health care.
