Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation)

Dr. Plant is currently an attending physician in neuro-oncology at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Assistant Professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine with a research focus on translational research and early clinical trial development for pediatric brain tumors. I am a board certified pediatric gastroenterologist and transplant hepatologist with advanced training in intestinal rehabilitation, hepatology and GI/Liver transplant, and my clinical activities are divided across these areas both in the inpatient and ambulatory settings. My research interests include consortia and collaboration-based investigation of rare diseases, with ongoing projects looking at Liver Disease in Telomere Biology Disorders and Cholangiocarcinoma in Pediatric Onset PSC-IBD. Dr. O'Neill specializes in the comprehensive care of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities. Satish N. Nadig, MD, PhD is the Edward G. Elcock Professor of Surgery at the Northwestern University-Feinberg School of Medicine. He is an adult and pediatric multiorgan transplant surgeon and  Professor in the Departments of Surgery, Microbiology/Immunonology, and Pediatrics. Dr. Gertler completed her undergraduate degree in molecular biology and neuroscience at Princeton University, her medical school degree at Northwestern University Feinberg school of medicine, her graduate degree studying neuromodulation in altered dopamingeric states in the basal ganglia at Northwestern University in the lab of Dr. D. James Surmeier, and her pediatrics/child neurology residency at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago.
