Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Cardiology)

I am an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and an attending physician in Cardiology at Lurie Children’s Hospital. Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Neonatology)

Dr. Kenny D. Kronforst earned her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and her Master of Public Health from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. She then obtained her MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2006. Following her intern year in Pediatrics at the same institution, she relocated to Boston in 2007 and joined the prestigious Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics. Bessey E Geevarghese

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Infectious Diseases)

I am interested in caring for children with any pediatric infectious disease. I primarily cover inpatient and outpatient infectious disease at Central Dupage Hospital in Winfield, IL. My clinical interests include bone & joint infections, Kawasaki disease, prolonged and recurrent fevers, lymphadenitis, skin and soft tissue infections. I work with the medical providers at CDH to implement appropriate clinical guidelines, develop hospital specific antibiotic stewardship, as well as various quality improvement projects to enhance safety and effectiveness of treatment provided to our patients.

Jill H Samis

Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Endocrinology)

I am a pediatric endocrinologist engaged in clinical care and clinical research. My clinical interests are in the care of children with long-term endocrine sequelae of childhood cancer, thyroid disorders, growth disorders, and disorders of puberty. I participate in the multidisciplinary STAR (Survivors Taking Action and Responsiblity) clinic and participate in theFertility & Hormone Preservation & Restoration Program.

Lauren M Pachman

Professor, Pediatrics (Rheumatology)

Dr. Pachman's translational team studies Juvenile Myositis (JM), an often chronic pediatric systemic vasculopathy associated with skin inflammation and proximal muscle weakness of unknown etiology. Her laboratory has identified genetic, immunologic and environmental factors that play a role in the onset of symptoms and govern outcome. RNASeq, miRNA and Gene expression micro array studies of untreated children's diagnostic muscle biopsies identified massive dysregulation of IFN-a induced genes in JDM. Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

I completed a Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine Fellowship with an interest in medical education and faculty development. Since joining Lurie Childrens Hospital I have become a leader in Clinical documentation and a Physician Advisor in Case Management with a focus on Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. My interest is in developing educational curricula for residents and faculty to improve communication amongst healthcare teams.

Interested in effects of physiologic and biochemical support after pediatric cardiac arrest and relationship to oucome. Also interested in diagnostic studies and prognosticatoin for these patients. Committed to critical care delivery, improvement, education, and discovery.

Nancy L Kuntz

Professor, Pediatrics (Neurology and Epilepsy), Neurology - Ken and Ruth Davee Department

Dr. Nancy Kuntz is a child neurologist with additional board certifications in Pediatrics, Electrodiagnostic Medicine and Autonomic Medicine. Dr. Kuntz joined the Departments of Pediatrics and Neurology at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine in December 2009 and is Medical Director of the Mazza Foundation Neuromuscular Disorders Program, the PPMD Duchenne Care Center and the MDA Care Center at Lurie Children’s. As medical director for the Institute for Sports Medicine (ISM) at Lurie Children’s since 2004, I have extensive experience caring for children and adolescents with sports-related injuries. Jennifer P Rubin

Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Neurology and Epilepsy)

In addition to caring for infants, children, and adolescents with a variety of neurologic conditions, Dr Rubin has specialized training and interest in acquired demyelinating diseases (multiple sclerosis, transverse myelitis, neuromyelitis optica) and genetic white matter diseases (leukodystrophies). She serves as the director of Lurie's Leukodystrophy Care Center, a multidisciplinary program developed to provide the best possible care to patients with leukodystrophies and their families at every stage of their disease.
