Danielle C Beachler

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine)

My medical training began at the University of Texas in Houston where I received my MD degree and moved to Kansas City to complete my residency in Pediatrics at Children's Mercy Hospital. My fellowship training in Pulmonary Medicine was completed at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. I then moved to Austin, TX where I served on the faculty of The University of Texas Austin and Dell Medical School for 9 years before joining the team at Lurie Children’s in November 2024.

Farshad Sedaghat-Yazdi

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Cardiology)

My main area of clinical interest is in general cardiology, which includes diagnosis and management of congenital heart disease and evaluation of chest pain, palpitations, syncope/dizziness, and murmurs. I also have an interest and expertise in the use and application of exercise stress testing, especially in patients with congenital heart disease, as well as its use for cardiac rehabilitation.

Joshua L Goldstein

Professor, Pediatrics (Neurology and Epilepsy), Medical Education, Neurology - Ken and Ruth Davee Department

My area of academic interest focuses on pediatric neurocritical care especially as it pertains to epilepsy, status epilepticus, coma, brain injury, and neurophysiology.

Nina L Alfieri

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Advanced General Pediatrics and Primary Care)

Michael C Verre

Instructor, Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

As a hospital-based pediatrician, Dr. Verre cares for infants and children admitted to Prentice Women's Hospital and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. He is involved in medical student and pediatric resident education and has a special interest in immigrant and refugee health as well as infants exposed to opioids.

Joshua J Baker

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Genetics, Genomics, and Metabolism)

Genetics fascinates me because there is no foreseeable end to the expansion of technology and understanding the human genome.  Medical Genetics and Genomics encompass everything I love about medicine: direct patient care, complex diagnostic skills, research, and advocacy.  My passion for complex medical patient inspired my residency research focus.  With my advisor, I helped develop a research project to create a medical-home model for our continuity clinic patients with chronic health conditions.  The patients of this clinic are primarily composed of low-income families facing multiple life-c...

As a clinician, researcher, and entrepreneur, my primary mission is to improve care through better patient-doctor engagement. My clinical interest is the care of children with complex motility and disorders of gut brain interaction (DGBI) taking a multidisciplinary team approach.  Complex patients require more time to fully understand the interaction and relationship of all their symptoms. Colleen M Badke

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Critical Care)

I attended college at the University of Notre Dame, studying Biology and Spanish. In 2013, I graduated from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine with an MD/MPH and focus in leadership development, then completed a Pediatrics residency and Chief residency from McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University/Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. I subsequently completed a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine fellowship from the same institution, then joined as faculty in the Department of Pediatrics in 2020. 

Amy S Paller

Professor, Dermatology, Pediatrics (Dermatology)

The Paller lab is interested in understanding how skin cells communicate with sensory nerves, the immune system, and the vasculature in inflammatory skin disorders (such as psoriasis, eczema, and genetic skin disorders) and diabetic wounds; determining the mechanism by which obesity exacerbates inflammatory disease; and using topically-delivered nanotechnology towards developing new targeted therapies for skin disorders. Norrina Bai Allen

Professor, Preventive Medicine (Epidemiology), Medical Social Sciences (Determinants of Health), Pediatrics

Dr. Allen specializes in cardiovascular epidemiology with a focus on health services research. Her research interests include the effect of neighborhood and environment on cardiovascular disease, disparities in quality of care and outcomes as well as the use of large databases to examine these questions.
