Amy Petzel is a pediatrician in the department of Pediatrics, Hospital-Based Medicine. She works at Lurie Children's Hospital and Prentice Women's Hospital. She enjoys caring for children of all ages, from neonates to adolescents.

Danielle C Beachler

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine)

My medical training began at the University of Texas in Houston where I received my MD degree and moved to Kansas City to complete my residency in Pediatrics at Children's Mercy Hospital. My fellowship training in Pulmonary Medicine was completed at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. I then moved to Austin, TX where I served on the faculty of The University of Texas Austin and Dell Medical School for 9 years before joining the team at Lurie Children’s in November 2024.

Justin R Ryder

Associate Professor, Surgery (Pediatric General Surgery), Pediatrics

Dr. Justin Ryder is a clinical translational pediatric obesity researcher focused on understanding the biology underlying treatment response for pediatric obesity.  The goal of his NIH funded research is to expediate the translation of treatment from adults to children for the disease of obesity and improve short-term and long-term outcomes for youth with obesity.  His highly collaborative works span the continuum of treatment with studies focused on lifestyle modification, medications, and surgery.  He currently serves as the Vice Chair of Research for the Department of Surgery at Lurie Child...
