Professor, Pediatrics (Genetics, Genomics, and Metabolism)

Dr. Prada finds it an honor to work with children, adults, and families with genetic diseases with focused on lysosomal storage disordes, neurofibromatosis, rasopathies, and metabolic diseases. His clinical work is devoted to improving health for individuals with rare diseases by developing individualized and integrated care across specialties to promote their wellbeing.  He has conducted randomized clinical trials of novel therapeutics including gene therapy. I attended college at the University of Notre Dame, studying Biology and Spanish. In 2013, I graduated from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine with an MD/MPH and focus in leadership development, then completed a Pediatrics residency and Chief residency from McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University/Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. I subsequently completed a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine fellowship from the same institution, then joined as faculty in the Department of Pediatrics in 2020.

My clinical and research focus is cystic fibrosis (CF). My research interests are development of new diagnostic tools and therapies, characterizing and treating early lung disease, and improving health equity.  Since newborn screening in cystic fibrosis has been established in the United States, I have been active in evaluating and improving newborn screening processes and infant outcomes, and in extending highly effective therapies into the care of infants and children.
