Residency Program Directors
Thank you for your interest in Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, an independent free-standing Children’s Hospital in downtown Chicago. Our program offers rigorous clinical and academic training in a world class city serving a large, ethnically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse patient population. Students from all over the country choose to join us to train at Lurie Children’s. We currently have residents from 53 different medical schools in our program helping to further our mission of providing the highest quality education to trainees and the highest quality of care to children. We welcome pediatric residents from diverse backgrounds and varied lived experiences, and with wide ranging interests in advocacy, research, medical education, and clinical care. Teaching is central to what we do at Lurie, and our daily educational conferences are a highlight. Our residents teach us as well as learn from us as we push the boundaries of what is possible in caring for our patients.
Enthusiasm, compassion, curiosity, teamwork, and communication are vital elements of this process. We seek residents who have a growth mindset and are ready for the challenge of contributing to a program that is always working to improve ourselves, as well as the lives of children and their families. Our program is both structured and flexible. We provide a solid clinical and academic foundation that allows our residents to explore their interests and opens pathways to fellowships and careers of all types. The faculty is committed to teaching and mentoring our residents to give them the best possible start as they embark on their journey as physicians. Beyond the academic, our residents get to enjoy the rich cultural offerings, food scene, and recreational opportunities of the vibrant and dynamic city of Chicago. If you are interested in collaborating with us, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We welcome your questions and interest.
