Eric L Wald

Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Critical Care)

My clinical interests focus on cardiac intensive care, chiefly the post-operative care of neonates and children undergoing congenital heart surgery.My primary research interest involves HPA axis dysfunction post-surgery, during sepsis, ARDS and other conditions involving oxidative stress.

Joanna L Weinstein

Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation)

Dr. Weinstein treats patients with all forms of childhood and adolescent cancer. Her primary areas of expertise include retinoblastoma (the most common form of eye cancer in children), pediatric lymphomas (both Non-Hodgkin and Hodgkin subtypes and post-transplantation lymphomas), and a group of disorders called the histiocytoses, including Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH) and Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Advanced General Pediatrics and Primary Care)

Dr. Cohen is a primary care pediatrician and health services researcher in the Division of Advanced General Pediatrics. She is interested in partnering with patients and families to address adversity that impacts child and adolescent health.

Richard S Smith

Assistant Professor, Pharmacology, Pediatrics

The Smith lab seeks to understand the role of neuronal activity in the development of the prenatal brain. We leverage modern genetics and classic neurobiology approaches to develop translational research insights, in a effort to treat early life ion channel diseases. Our training philosophy is to equip young scientists with skills to perform leading research and technology development, while also focusing on pressing issues in the scientific community.

Jacqueline Korpics, MD, MPH is a pediatrician and preventive medicine and public health physician who is currently a primary care pediatrician and the Director of the Lead Exposure Clinic in the Division of Advanced General Pediatrics and Primary Care at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Patrick C. Seed, MD, Ph.D. is President and Chief Research Officer at the Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. He is a Professor of Pediatrics and Microbiology & Immunology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Elizabeth A Sokol

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation)

I received my medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Medicine in 2011, prior to completing my Pediatrics residency at the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital. I completed a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology in 2017 and a post-doctoral fellowship Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacogenomics in 2018 at the University of Chicago. I subsequently became a member of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology division at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago in 2018.

Professor, Pediatrics (Cardiology), Medical Education

Dr. Patel is a Pediatric and Fetal Cardiologist with subspecialized training in Cardiac Imaging. Her research interests lie at the intersection of pediatric and fetal cardiology and clinical medical ethics.
