Ravi R Jhaveri

Professor, Pediatrics (Infectious Diseases)

After having served on the faculty at both Duke and UNC, Dr. Jhaveri joined the faculty at Lurie/FSM in October 2018. He currently serves as Division Head for Pediatric Infectious Diseases.Dr. Jhaveri is active in leadership of several infectious diseases society at the national level. From 2015-2019, he served as a member of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society Board of Directors. He is the current Chair of the Infectious Diseases Society of America Leadership Institute subcommittee and past-Chair of the IDSA Standards, Practice and Guidelines Committee. Kyle L MacQuarrie

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation)

Dr. MacQuarrie is a physician-scientist who specializes in pediatric solid tumors. He is involved both with the care of children with such tumors, as well as basic scientific studies relevant to understanding tumor biology.

Jami L Josefson

Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Endocrinology)

I am a physician scientist with a research interest in the developmental origins of obesity. I study metabolism in pregnancy and the near and long-term metabolic outcomes in children. My long-term goal is to facilitate early intervention to prevent obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Carolyn C Foster

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Advanced General Pediatrics and Primary Care)

Dr. Carolyn Foster is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and an attending physician at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago in primary and complex care. As a primary investigator of the Foster Health Lab, she holds NIH, AHRQ, and Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health funding to improve the wellbeing of children with disabling chronic conditions, while reducing health-care related stress for their families, through family-partnered research, innovative healthcare design, and policy change. Jennifer P Rubin

Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Neurology and Epilepsy)

In addition to caring for infants, children, and adolescents with a variety of neurologic conditions, Dr Rubin has specialized training and interest in acquired demyelinating diseases (multiple sclerosis, transverse myelitis, neuromyelitis optica) and genetic white matter diseases (leukodystrophies). She serves as the director of Lurie's Leukodystrophy Care Center, a multidisciplinary program developed to provide the best possible care to patients with leukodystrophies and their families at every stage of their disease. 

Rebecca Unger

Clinical Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Community Based Primary Care)

Dr Unger is a general pediatrician and offers well child care from birth through adolescence. She has a special interest in nutrition, prevention and treatment of childhood obesity, and family fitness.

Jessica Teresa Fry

Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Neonatology)

I study the experiences of families who have children hospitalized in a neonatal intensive care unit. My focus is on medical decision-making and the interactions of families with medical providers in the process of that decision-making. I also have an interest in how social media may impact medical information and decisions. In addition to this research and my work as a clinical neonatologist, I also work with the Lurie Bridges Pediatric Palliative Care team to provide palliative care consultation and support in the perinatal and neonatal populations.

Nina L Gotteiner

Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Cardiology)

My primary clincal and research interest is in the field of fetal cardiology. I am interested in advancing screening fetal echocardiograms in addition to continuing my research in fetal arrhythmias andcongenital heart disease.

Rachel M Weinstein

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Neonatology)

My interests involve the integration of point of care ultrasound to enhance the bedside care of neonates. My research interests involve lung ultrasound and targeted neonatal echocardiography/hemodynamics. 

Elizabeth N Groothuis

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

I am a pediatric hospitalist at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Prentice Women's Hospital. I primarily work in the NICU at these sites. When not involved with clinical work, I am heavily involved with global health education within our pediatric residency program.
